A new hotel concept offering affordable luxury for the mobile citizen: travellers, explorers, trekkers, professionals and shoppers. They want a comfortable bed, a quiet room, a perfect shower, a large-screen TV and a pleasant lounge. citizenM gives them all that plus user-friendly technology and modern design.

Offering affordable luxury has been made possible the use of IFD (industrial, flexible and demountable) construction. WeLL Design has a considerable amount of experience in this unconventional construction, in developing citizenM hotels WeLL Design was asked to work on various details of the room structure and interior fittings such as the bed-making syste and the bathroom.

The first citizenM hotel opened at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on 24 June 2008. The second hotel will open beginning 2009 in Amsterdam nearby the WTC and many other hotels will roll-out across Europe in the coming five years.
