Hand therapy measuring kit
Patients recovering from hand injuries are referred to hand therapists or rehabilitation specialists, who use a variety of tests to assess their condition. The results are then used to compile a treatment plan. The measuring kit for hand therapy developed by WeLL Design consists of four products for use in this procedure, to test hand strength, sensitivity and degree of joint articulation.
The kit is quick and easy to use, the measurements are reproducible and the results can be added instantly to the subject’s electronic medical record.
WeLL Design was responsible for the design, ergonomics and technical development of the kit, as well as a user study. In developing the design and ergonomics, we worked closely with prospective users such as rehabilitation specialists and hand therapists. The user study involved mock-ups, working models and visualisations, enabling us to understand quickly what the end users needed and wanted. This project was carried out in close co-operation with Den Ouden and the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam..
