Nieaf-Smitt: VoltSpotter/VoltBeeper detectors

The VoltSpotter and VoltBeeper are automatic voltage detectors. When held close to a live power source, an LED comes on. The VoltBeeper also emits an acoustic signal. Because there is no actual contact with the source, these devices are safe for both user and system.

The VoltSpotter is popular as a corporate gift, but there are many competing products on the market. For that reason, its design had to be totally distinctive as well as representing the ambition and modernity of the Nieaf-Smitt brand.

With a detection range of 100-1000V AC and, in the case of the VoltBeeper, an acoustic signal of about 65dB, the products are also ideal for professional use. Because 2K injection moulding is used for the housing, they comply with IP64, one of the most stringent standards for dust and water-resistance. WeLL Design was responsible for the design and basic engineering of both products.
