Rox: cable cart
When Livin Dethier came up with an original idea for a “cable cart”, WeLL Design was the partner he chose to turn it into a practical, stylish and manufacturable product. The patented Rox cart is an ergonomic, user-friendly tool for rolling, unrolling, storing and moving all kinds of cable, from heavy power lines to wires and even flexible piping, in settings like construction sites and trade fairs. This used to have to be done by hand and, with single cables weighing anything up to 100kg, usually by two people. With the Rox, one person can do the job easily. That saves time, saves money and considerably improves working conditions. Multiple cables can be rolled onto a single reel, and the reels are easily removed for tidy storage. Without a reel fitted, the cart acts as a normal hand trolley.
As well as handling the entire product development process from initial mock-up through proof of principle and working model to prototype, WeLL Design also selected and supervised the Chinese manufacturer.
