In 1979, Mathijs van Dijk and Arthur Eger founded 1979 Van Dijk en Eger BV. Their first clients were kitchen and heating equipment supplier Pelgrim and SARA Computing and Networking Services in Amsterdam.

The company merged with Ingenieursburo voor Produktontwikkeling PI BV in 1985, adding such clients as Auping and VBA Flower Auction to its portfolio. Rob Willemsen also became a partner in the firm, which changed its name to Van Dijk/Eger/Associates BV.
